- (Business Wire) The Open SystemC Initiative (OSCI):
WHO: The Open SystemC Initiative (OSCI), an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and advancing SystemC™ as an industry-standard language for electronic system-level (ESL) design, announced the newly formed Taiwan SystemC Users Group (TSCUG) will host its first forum on November 16 at the Ambassador Hotel in Hsinchu. The event is free of charge to the electronic design community. To register and view the agenda visit: http://www.stcevent.itri.org.tw/TSCUG_eDM_English_v1.htm. WHAT: In 2005, Taiwan launched various ESL movements in education, training, standardization and industrialization. As part of that movement, an ESL Working Group was formed within the Taiwan SoC Consortium to raise the awareness and promote the adoption of ESL design methodologies. Recognizing the importance of SystemC to the electronic design community, the ESL WG recently transformed to become the Taiwan SystemC Users Group (TSCUG), an independent user organization that will host regular open forums to further promote ESL technologies. The first-ever TSCUG forum features presentations from industry experts and academia who will discuss ESL design today, and best practices moving forward. Highlights include: - Dr. Kazuhiro Yoshinaga from STARC will address TLM-2.0 modeling guidelines
- NCKU, NTHU and NTU will illustrate achievements in ESL research and standardization over the years
- Ian R. Mackintosh, Chairman and President, OCP-IP will discuss Key Solutions to ESL Challenges
- Mike Meredith, president of OSCI, will provide an update on technical working group activities
- User Track featuring IC design and services houses, EDA suppliers delves into ESL practices in industry projects
- Academic and Design Track features topics such as virtual platform design, accurate model construction, and ESL verification methodology
- Panel: “Is Taiwan Ready for ESL?” features speakers from academia, industry and research to debate how Taiwan can move forward in ESL
For a complete agenda visit http://www.stcevent.itri.org.tw/TSCUG_eDM_English_v1.htm. WHEN: Monday, November 16, 2009, 1:00-5:30 PM WHERE: Ambassador Hotel, 188, Chung Hwa Road, Section 2, Hsinchu, Taiwan WHY: SystemC continues to grow in importance for architectural exploration, performance analysis, building virtual platforms for software development, and functional verification. User forums like TSCUG strengthen OSCI’s mission and its dedication to providing mechanisms that allow collaboration and information exchange among members of the global ESL community. About SystemC and OSCI The Open SystemC™ Initiative (OSCI) is an independent, not-for-profit association composed of a broad range of organizations dedicated to supporting and advancing SystemC as an open industry standard for system-level modeling, design and verification.
