Located at the foot of Canal St. and the Mississippi River, Harrah's sustained no damage during this week's storms. In fact, Harrah's staff was cleaning up the exterior of the property within 24 hours after the hurricane. All of the features and games made famous at Harrah's New Orleans will be open starting Saturday night, including Besh Steak and Harrah's famous buffet. The Terry Steele concert set for Sept. 5 - 6, at Harrah's Theatre, has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date. Harrah's entertainment schedule will continue on Wednesday, Sept. 10, with DJ Captain Charles, at Harrah's Masquerade.
"We are ready to go and welcome visitors and locals back to New Orleans, starting Saturday night," said Jim Hoskins, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah's New Orleans. "The New Orleans community is vital to our success. We are proud to showcase our business and do what we can to bring energy to the city, as our neighbors return home."
During the storm Harrah's maintained their commitment to their employees by maintaining consistent contact with managers and staff and paying all employees while the casino and hotel were closed this week.
