Adam's Daughters, the second book in The Westward Sagas, has recently been released. Although the story is fiction, everything is consistent with known history and could have happened.
(PRWEB) November 19, 2009 -- Adam's Daughters: Book 2 in the Westward Sagas has been released by Plum Creek Press, Inc. The Westward Sagas by David Bowles tell the story of the Mitchell family's 100-year odyssey west from Pennsylvania to Texas. Adam's Daughters is set in Jonesborough, Tennessee in the first twenty years of the nation's existence. The author conducted years of historical research in preparation for writing the series. Though the stories are fictional, everything could have happened as the author imagined it.
For example, in the book, Andrew Jackson, who was known as a rake in his younger days, courted Peggy Mitchell, the oldest of Adam Mitchell's daughters. Peggy, who valued her independence more than marriage to the up-and-coming attorney, spurned Jackson's proposal.
Bowles explained, "Although there is no historical record that Andrew Jackson courted Peggy Mitchell, it is possible--perhaps likely. We know Andrew was in Jonesborough in 1788. He and Peggy were both young and unmarried, and there were not many marriageable men and women in the area at the time." The author explained other connections between Andrew Jackson and the Mitchell family. He concluded, "Did Andrew Jackson court Peggy Mitchell? No one knows. Is it possible? Absolutely."
There are currently two books in The Westward Sagas: the award-winning and critically acclaimed Book 1: Spring House and the newly released Book 2: Adam's Daughters. Both novels are available at http://www.westwardsagas.com, Amazon.com, and other booksellers.
Bowles is currently researching the final book in the series, Book 3: Rebeckah. He is available for media interviews as well as speaking engagements.
The Westward Sagas are published by Plum Creek Press, Inc., in San Antonio, Texas.
