LOS ANGELES, CA -- 09/23/09 -- With dieting and watching one's budget being main concerns of many busy female working professionals, brown bagging lunch is at an all-time high since 2001, according to the NPD Group, a national market research group in New York. "Adults age 18 and older consumed some 8.5 billion brown-bagged lunches in 2007," says NPD.

For the fashionista within these women, carrying brown bags in addition to their handbags can be unattractive and unappealing. In an effort to combine fashion and function, Amber Pollard has launched Lunch a la Mode, a contemporary handbag line stylishly designed to hold daily necessities and lunch in an insulated and removable compartment. "The fact that women are forced to tote around unappealing brown paper sacks or clunky cooler bags while wearing designer pumps when they are dieting or being budget conscious, seems contradictory to our desire to remain stylish," Pollard explains. "The Lunch a la Mode collection enables women to work, play and eat in style."

Fashion editors have called Lunch a la Mode handbags "the answer to the chic woman's prayers" and "a dream" because it allows them to carry everything they need to get through the day -- lunch, beverages and your iPod, wallet and other everyday essentials -- and look great doing it.

Each luxurious Lunch a la Mode handbag includes an insulated and removable lunch pouch, a mesh ice pack pouch, a beverage holder, two reusable ice packs, along with plenty of room for a wallet, cosmetics, cell phone, day calendar, etc. A career woman's dream come true, this solution eliminates the need for extra baggage, making it possible to go out after work without dragging tons of stuff. Dieters, business travelers and commuters will especially appreciate these roomy and chic bags, which are comparable in appearance to regular designer handbags.

Lunch a la Mode currently offers four silhouettes: the expandable Bistro shoulder bag with an adjustable strap, the side-pocketed Alfresco shoulder bag, the roomy Picnic hobo with a dressy partial chain strap, and the dome-shaped Trattoria tote with top handles. The handbags are made from leather, patent leather as well as eco-friendly vegan leather, or hemp suede and are available in a variety of colors, including buttercream, anise, oyster, caramello, and rum raisin. Prices range from $270 - $588.
