BOSTON, MA -- 08/26/08 --
New England Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas
and other local sports stars and celebrities will kick off the 2008
football season at the first annual All-Star Trivia Kick-Off challenge at
the Cask 'n Flagon on September 4. Attendees will have the chance to
compete in a sports trivia challenge with the biggest names in Boston
sports while enjoying the NFL Season Opener and raising money for a
fantastic cause.
On Thursday, September 4, as Washington takes on New York in the season
opener, local fans are invited to take on All-Star athletes and celebrities
in a Boston sports trivia challenge, with WEEI's Mike Adams of the "Planet
Mikey Show" serving as quizmaster. During halftime of the televised
football game, teams will compete for great prizes while having a
one-of-a-kind opportunity to get up-close and personal with Adalius Thomas
and other All-Star athletes. The winning trivia team will take home the
grand prize of "The Ultimate NASCAR Experience," which includes "Pit Road"
passes and VIP hospitality treatment at the Craftsman Truck Series New
Hampshire 200 on September 13, and the Sylvania 300 on September 14, at the
New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Attendees will not only have the chance to team-up with local All-Stars,
but they will also be raising money for a terrific charity. The All-Star
Trivia Kick-Off event will benefit Boston-based BELL (Building Educated
Leaders for life). BELL provides summer and afterschool programs to help
children living in underserved communities develop their potential to excel
academically and socially. Proceeds from the event will be donated to BELL
on behalf of Adalius Thomas' S.L.A.S.H. Fund.
Individual attendee tickets are $75 each, and team entries, which include
four event tickets and one team registration to the trivia contest, are
$500. The fun-filled evening will be held at the Cask 'n Flagon located at
62 Brookline Avenue, across the street from historic Fenway Park. The
festivities will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 11:00 p.m.
