NEW YORK, NY -- 03/18/08 --
GigaSpaces Technologies today announced that
its Wiki Documentation Portal (available at
http://www.gigaspaces.com/wiki)
has won a prestigious professional accolade, the Award of Excellence in the
Society for Technical Communications (STC) California and Silicon Valley
Technical Communication Competition. Other winners of this year's award
were Apple, Palm and Cisco Systems.
In the same competition, GigaSpaces also won the Award of Merit for its
white paper "The Scalability Revolution" (available at
http://www.gigaspaces.com/os_papers.html), written by Chief Technology
Officer, Nati Shalom, which explains why GigaSpaces' Space-Based
Architecture (SBA) is the most cost-effective way to achieve linear
scalability with minimal complexity in distributed applications.
This is the second year in a row GigaSpaces is recognized for its
innovative wiki documentation, having won the coveted Merit Award in the
2007 STC Trans-European Technical Communications Competition.
On the heels of that award, GigaSpaces launched an ambitious project to
further enhance the developer experience: a major redesign of the Wiki
Documentation Portal, including a new homepage, navigation scheme and
information architecture. The project team -- Gilad David Maayan, Michael
Mitrani, Limor Maayan and Shlomo Pariente Cohen -- came up with an
interactive map of the GigaSpaces product, which guides developers through
GigaSpaces' virtualized middleware stack. It was this innovative approach
that impressed STC judges and landed GigaSpaces the award.
The GigaSpaces Wiki Documentation Portal offers up-to-the-minute
documentation and dynamically updated content, which provides immeasurable
value for GigaSpaces customers and the developer community at large. The
portal represents a unique collaborative effort between GigaSpaces'
technical writers and highly knowledgeable development and product experts,
who work together to provide enriched documentation.
"GigaSpaces is constantly working to provide an enriched developer
experience, not only for our customers, but for anyone interested in the
next generation of application server technology," said Geva Perry, chief
marketing officer at GigaSpaces. "This outstanding achievement makes it
even easier to make the transition to the new, virtualized middleware
stack."
