RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As Tropical Storm Hanna nears the North Carolina coast, cities and towns that provide electric service are ready to respond to outages. Public power communities throughout North Carolina work together to restore power as quickly as possible using the Emergency Assistance Program (EAP). The EAP has been activated and crews from cities not impacted by the storm will head to public power cities that need assistance.

Public power customers should report any power outages or downed lines directly to their city utility.
