Roach brings extensive consumer electronics and retail experience to NAVIGON, which launched its first consumer brand PND products in 2007 and continues to introduce game-changing product innovations with its 2008 product lineup. Prior to LG Electronics, Roach served as director of U.S. consumer sales at ViewSonic Americas for three years and in various marketing and sales roles at Sony Corporation of America for 13 years.
In his role as president for the Americas, Roach will lead all marketing and sales functions for the Americas. He will report directly to Egon Minar, chief sales officer at NAVIGON AG (Germany).
"Michael helped grow LG Electronics to a tier-one brand, forging strong relationships with new and existing accounts and expanding the company's consumer footprint," said Minar. "We are excited that he's chosen to join NAVIGON Inc. and lead a team that is focused on taking NAVIGON to the next level of consumer sales success."
Roach joins NAVIGON as the company is poised to launch its new 2008 Fall Product Line. NAVIGON put itself on the PND map in 2007 with bold and innovative features including Free Real-Time Traffic Updates for Life, Reality View(TM), and Lane Assistant. Its new 2008 product line enhances these features and offers new, exclusive and innovative features such as Landmark View 3D, Voice Destination Entry and more.
"Even before joining NAVIGON, I had been impressed by how the company was shaking up the PND category, with innovative features and new business models," said Roach. "Consumer GPS is one of the fastest-growing categories in consumer electronics and, though a relative newcomer, NAVIGON has already made serious inroads. I am thrilled to be part of the company's drive to grow the brand and the business and use my experience to continue the momentum NAVIGON has in the marketplace."
