CHICAGO - (Business Wire) Navigant Consulting, Inc. (NYSE:NCI), a global consulting firm providing dispute, investigative, operational, risk management and financial and regulatory advisory solutions, announced today the appointment of Cynthia A. Glassman to serve an initial term on Navigant’s Board of Directors in the class of directors whose term expires in 2012. “Dr. Glassman is a nationally respected economist and has been a leading voice in shaping policies around investor protection and education, clear disclosure rules and increasing the rigor in the regulatory process,” stated William M. Goodyear, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Dr. Glassman’s combination of public and private sector experience will be valuable to the Navigant Board as we continue to evaluate and consider opportunities the heightened regulatory environment is creating for our services.” Dr. Glassman has spent more than 35 years in the public and private sectors focusing on financial services regulatory and public policy issues. Most recently she served as Under Secretary for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Department of Commerce from 2006 to January 2009. Prior public sector experience included serving as a Commissioner at the Securities and Exchange Commission (including serving as the Acting Chairman in the summer of 2005), serving in a variety of economist roles for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and senior economist roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Complementing her public sector experience, Dr. Glassman was a Principal at Ernst & Young in the commercial banking risk management and the quantitative economics and statistics practices. She was also a Managing Director in the financial services regulatory and public policy practices at Furash & Company, and served as a senior economist at Economists Inc. She currently serves on the Board of Discover Financial Services and is a Trustee of the SEC Historical Society. “I am pleased to have the opportunity to join the Board of such a well respected global consulting firm,” stated Dr. Glassman. “Navigant has a strong reputation in the regulatory consulting environment and I’m looking forward to engaging with the leadership team to evaluate future growth opportunities for the firm.” “Dr. Glassman’s regulatory and public sector insight and her background as an economist provide a complementary mix with the current expertise on the Navigant Board,” commented Governor James R. Thompson, Lead Director on the Navigant Board. “Dr. Glassman will provide an important perspective as we continue to focus on achieving the firm’s long term vision. We are looking forward to working closely with her.” About Navigant Consulting Navigant Consulting, Inc.
