WARREN, Mich., June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Companies that are named "Chicago's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) are distinct and deserving of their recognition. Now in its fourth year, this award has become a designation sought after by hundreds of Chicago area companies.
The NABR will be honoring 101 companies, as well as presenting 11 elite awards, at the annual Chicago's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For symposium and awards luncheon on Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Chicago Marriott Oak Brook. Judy Hsu of ABC 7 Chicago News and Pat Cassidy of WBBM News Radio 780 will emcee the awards ceremony. A series of workshops about leading human resources topics will also be presented.
An independent research firm evaluates each company's entry in the following categories: communication, community initiatives, compensation and benefits, diversity and multiculturalism, employee education and development, employee engagement and commitment, recognition and retention, recruitment and selection, work-life balance and small business. The 2008 winning companies have demonstrated exceptional commitment to innovative human resource initiatives that positively benefit their employees. (See following list for winners.)

The event begins at 8 a.m. with registration, networking and continental breakfast. The morning continues with a series of interactive educational sessions on human resource practices starting at 8:30 a.m., followed by the awards luncheon and announcement of the 11 elite winners at 11:45 a.m. This year's educational sessions include "Recruitment Strategies for the New Human Resources," "Employee Engagement: Mission Critical," "The New Operation Role of HR" and "Generations in the Workplace."
Chicago's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For is sponsored by ABC 7 Chicago News, Chrysler LLC, America Chartered Bank, Assurance Agency, FONA International, Inc., Management Association of Illinois, Michael C. Fina, IIT's Center for Research and Services, Verizon Wireless and Crowe Chizek & Company.
