Minnesota moving company, Barrett Moving and Storage teams up with Sterling Planet to offer

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, November 09, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sterling Planet, a leading national supplier of renewable energy, energy efficiency and carbon solutions, today announced that it has partnered with Barrett Moving to offer carbon offsets to exhibitors at Greenbuild 2009, the U.S. Green Building Council's showcase event being held in Phoenix, November 11-13. More than 25,000 are expected to gather at this year's expo to focus on cost-effective, energy-efficient, water-saving green buildings.

This year's 1,800 Greenbuild exhibitors can easily and affordably 'green' their shipments to Arizona by visiting http://www.sterlingplanet.com/barrettmoving. There, they can take advantage of the Sterling Planet-Barrett Moving option to offset the carbon dioxide emissions generated by the transport of their exhibit materials. Priced at $5 each, the carbon offsets are available at various purchase levels, based on shipping volume.

"Most exhibitors realize that shipping exhibit materials results in emissions that many believe contribute to global climate change," said Mike Hansen, Vice President at Barrett Moving. "Now those shipments can be made carbon neutral. These carbon offsets mitigate the unwanted effects of shipping, helping exhibitors reduce their climate impact."

Carbon offsets are an increasingly popular tool for neutralizing environmental impacts. Each offset represents one metric ton of reduced emissions of carbon dioxide equivalents. Sterling Planet offers a high-quality portfolio from domestic and international sources that include sustainable land management, methane capture and destruction, energy efficiency and renewable energy. These verified offsets represent greenhouse gas reductions that are guaranteed to be additional, real, permanent and verifiable.

"Sterling Planet is pleased to team with Barrett Moving to help make Greenbuild a greener conference, long before the show actually begins," said Mel Jones, president and chief executive officer of Sterling Planet. "Greenbuild participants who exercise the carbon offsetting option will have every reason to feel good about how their exhibits made it to the world's largest expo devoted to green building."
