session titled, "Is Traditional Tape Backup Dead?" to learn about trends in

The session will begin with a review of email application growth, followed
by Windows file share growth and finally with Microsoft Office SharePoint
Server (MOSS). Best practices for data protection and the impact of
low-cost disk technology will also be examined. The session will be useful
for administrators and IT managers who are responsible for technology
spending and planning.
Spurzem has over 20 years of experience in high technology product
development and marketing with an emphasis in bringing new products to
market in both the email archiving and storage industries. As strategic
marketing director for Mimosa Systems, he is responsible for all aspects of
the product life cycle for Mimosa NearPoint(TM) including market
requirements definition, competitive research, positioning, sales
enablement, and product launch. Prior to Mimosa, Bob served in senior
product management positions for Legato Systems and VERITAS Software. Bob
has a Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University
and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
