PARIS - (Business Wire) The upcoming edition of MIDEM will once again stage the MIDEM Talent initiative, designed to present to industry professionals and the wider public around 20 groups and artists from all over the world with strong export potential. These showcases will be held as part of the MIDEM international music market which takes place in Cannes from 18 to 21 January.
Selection for MIDEM Talent is open to any group or artist with a record deal, either in the pop/rock or jazz categories, and submissions for pop/rock groups should be made via the American on-line artistic promotion platform Sonicbids before 31 October 2008.
The inaugural edition of MIDEM Talent in January 2008 notably included such artists as Yael Naïm, Drugs, The Black and White Years, Dúné, the Pascale Picard Band and Ibrahim Maalouf.
The MIDEM Talent initiative is dedicated to the discovery and development of artists, and comprises showcase concerts, conferences and networking events.
