The recently enacted Medicare Improvement Law immediately affects the operations of more than 500 Medicare Advantage insurance companies nationwide PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 20
PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- When the House and Senate overrode
President Bush's veto of HR 6331, creating new legislation protecting Medicare
beneficiaries, they also established stricter requirements for Medicare
Advantage plans during one of the busiest months of the year for that
industry. Possibly the most significant change in the new law is specific
prohibitions and limitations on certain sales and marketing activities for
Medicare Advantage plans and prescription drug plans. And with August 30 being
the deadline for these plans to file all of their operational riders, plans
and notifications with The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS),
as well as the states within the plan's service area, many will grapple with
submitting their materials on time. Yet there is a faster, CMS compliant
solution for these struggling plans.
MedicareCRM(R) specializes in management solutions for the health care
industry through its proprietary technology designed specifically for Medicare
Advantage plans. With user-friendly, Web-based modules, MedicareCRM(R) is
able to cost-effectively train and certify that the plan's Marketing and
Enrollment operations are CMS compliant; ensure brokers and sales agents are
operating according to CMS regulations; ensure all sales contact points are
CMS compliant; enable monitoring of marketing campaigns for CMS compliance;
monitor every member touch point from lead acquisition through automated
transactions with CMS; deliver CMS compliance alerts; and provide an executive
dashboard for year-round monitoring of systems, including the new law's
requirement for reporting systems and incentive payments.
Federal law requires Medicare Advantage Plans to limit their sales
activities to a 4.5-month window of opportunity. And while the new 2009 law
gives plans until 2011 to achieve full implementation of HR 6331, CMS has
promised the 2.3 million Medicare Advantage beneficiaries (source: CMS 2005
data) immediate increased scrutiny and protection from illicit sales and
marketing activities by non-compliant Medicare Advantage plans.
MedicareCRM founders Ron Ortiz and Patrick Phillips have developed a
solution to the Medicare Advantage plans' internal struggle for both
compliance and the bottom-line. The modules are part of MedicareCRM's mission
to provide comprehensive health plan management solutions that improve the
public/private partnership of the current Medicare system, so that a new
standard of service, excellence and ROI is achieved for both Medicare
beneficiaries and Medicare Advantage plans.
MedicareCRM is a division of Premier Market Connections, a privately held,
bicoastal company with offices in Pittsburgh, Penn., and Portland, Ore. The
company's Medicare Advantage clients rank in the top 10 Medicare plans in the
United States. For more information, please visit MedicareCRM.com.
