ATLANTA, Sept. 22 GA-MDdatacor-Nebraska
ATLANTA, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- MDdatacor, Inc., a leader in health care quality management solutions for health plans and providers, today announced a new contract with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) to support the health plan's quality program, which initially focuses on members with diabetes and hypertension. BCBSNE serves nearly 700,000 members throughout the state.

BCBSNE will rely on MDdatacor's patented and interoperable CareInformatixTM technology to automate the collection of clinical data from primary care physician practices' existing electronic medical record, practice management, lab and registry systems, as well as transcribed notes, which means that even physicians without electronic systems will be able to participate in the program. MDdatacor is currently the only company able to aggregate clinical data directly from physicians' own patient records, resulting in access to the most comprehensive patient data.

"MDdatacor provides doctors with actionable clinical information at the point-of-care, which leads to improvements in patients' health. MDdatacor's technology has resulted in demonstrated improvements in patient outcomes, and we will now bring that same value to BCBSNE," said Tim Roche, co-founder, president and chief executive officer of MDdatacor. "BCBSNE clearly understands the importance of putting disease management in the hands of physicians by providing the most accurate, timely and comprehensive patient information."

MDdatacor will provide participating physicians with real-time web-based reports that identify patients whose current treatment does not meet nationally recognized clinical guidelines. As a result, patients receive the most appropriate, evidence-based medical care in a more cost-effective manner.

"Our focus is on delivering the health and wellness solutions people value most," says Dr. Bill Minier, vice president, medical policy and medical director of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska. "We see this as a significant step in supporting the delivery of quality care to our members. We also believe MDdatacor's system will enable physicians to more efficiently deliver the care they want their patients to receive. "
