Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP, an intellectual property law firm, has added three new associates and also recognized the successes of its current law professionals.
Chicago (PRWEB) November 8, 2009 -- Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP, an intellectual property law firm, has added three new associates and also recognized the successes of its current law professionals.
The firm is pleased to welcome its new associates, Laurence B. ("Larry") Dietrick, Joshua B. Elkins and Lance Shaner, Ph.D., and acknowledges the achievements of litigation associate Charles E. Juister, who has passed the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Bar, along with patent agents Michael A. Chinlund and Jonathan T. Goodman, Ph.D., who have received their law degrees and passed the Illinois Bar.
Larry Dietrick graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law after completing an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering at the same university. Dietrick joins the patent prosecution practice area in the electrical engineering field.
Joshua B. Elkins joins the firm after earning his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. Elkins spent 11 years with the United States Navy specializing in operations and engineering before attending law school. Elkins will work with the patent prosecution practice group in mechanical engineering matters.
Lance Shaner, Ph.D., graduated from the University of Houston Law School and joins the Marshall, Gerstein & Borun biotechnology practice group. Prior to law school, Shaner earned his Ph.D. in microbiology and molecular genetics from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
Marshall, Gerstein & Borun also recognizes Charles E. Juister, a patent litigation associate, who recently passed the Patent Bar exam and is now a patent attorney. Juister represents clients in the mechanical and electrical arts, and has broad experience in various technologies, such as communication and networking systems, fueling equipment and image processing systems.
Two former patent agents have received their law degrees and passed the Illinois Bar. Michael A. Chinlund received his J.D. from the Northern Illinois University College of Law and a B.S. in aeronautical engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy. Chinlund focuses on aerospace, aircraft and navigation engineering patent prosecution. Jonathan T. Goodman, Ph.D., received his J.D. from the Chicago Kent College of Law and his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Illinois, Urbana in 1999. Goodman works with the chemical/chemical engineering, material science and nanotechnology practice groups.
