FRISCO, Texas - (Business Wire) With six grocery stores serving the Dallas-Fort Worth-area, Market Street was named one of the area’s “Top 100 Places to Work” by The Dallas Morning News. Market Street was No. 41 overall and 13th-best among the 32 companies recognized in the Large Business division.

“Creating the best shopping experience for Market Street guests starts with our Team Members – the heart and soul of our company,” said Eddie Owens, director of corporate communications, United Supermarkets LLC.

“Our Team Members take pride in going the extra mile to make sure guests find everything they need, choose from the freshest food selections and receive the best care. Guests really appreciate how Market Street Team Members make things easier with little things like taking groceries out to the car and asking how their day is going. Our Team Members arrive to work each day knowing they have the opportunity to positively impact the community with outstanding service, great selection and honest pricing; that’s why they love it here.”

In addition to generous benefits packages, Market Street introduced its North Texas Team Members to its popular College Savings Plan, through which the company matches the contributions of participating employees.

For the award, DFW companies were evaluated solely on the basis of responses to a 20-question employee survey distributed early this year. A total of 700 Market Street Team Members in the DFW region completed the survey.

Market Street ranked among the top 15 businesses in five of the six categories measured by the survey. The Dallas Morning News published its debut issue of “Top 100 Places to Work” in the Nov. 8 edition.

Recently, Market Street was one of nine local businesses honored at the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Momentum Awards for job growth and contribution to the Dallas-Fort Worth-area. And, on Nov. 5, Market Street’s parent company, United Supermarkets, was honored with the Texas Large Family Business of the Year Award from the Institute for Family Business at Baylor University.

Market Street is a unique shopping experience that combines the everyday groceries guests need with the specialty items, whole-health/gourmet products and pre-prepared foods they want. Market Street Colleyville was the company’s first DFW store to open in 2003. Almost identical stores have opened in McKinney, Allen, Frisco, Coppell-Lewisville and Plano.

Fans can find Market Street DFW on Facebook and Twitter.
