SEOUL, South Korea, May 22 NY-MagnaChip-sensor
SEOUL, South Korea, May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- MagnaChip Semiconductor Ltd., a leading provider of analog and mixed signal semiconductor products for high volume consumer applications, today, announced the launch of its 2.2um 1/10 inch VGA CMOS image sensor (MC501EA) for use in slim, high performance mobile phones.
The MC501EA CMOS sensor integrates VGA (640Hx480V) resolution with an advanced image signal processor to enable compact 5x5x3mm camera modules. The MC501EA also provides low noise 10-bit ADC and scene adaptive control, noise filtering, color processing and edge enhancement, resulting in crisp, true color images.
MagnaChip's MC501EA supports an ITU-R BT.656 parallel video interface and has low EMI emission. Additionally, the on-chip regulator enables operation on a single 2.4V to 3.1V power supply source for reduced host system power supply complexity. The device can be configured to support host devices with 1.8V, 2.5V or 2.8V digital I/O voltages.
Robert Krakauer, President of MagnaChip, said, "We are pleased to offer our customers unique products that take their image quality to new levels. Our investment in advanced pixel technologies along with our custom fabrication processes for CMOS sensors ensure that we deliver leading image quality. The MC501EA is ideal for small form factor mobile consumer devices available in the market today. We expect to fully leverage our technological advantage in providing excellent low light and low noise performance and other product features to become a leader in the CMOS imager market."
