Former TV producer Adam Cohen is set to release a calendar just in time for the holidays: The 2010 Nice Jewish Guys Calendar.
(PRWEB) November 30, 2009 -- Former TV producer Adam Cohen is set to release a calendar just in time for the holidays: The 2010 Nice Jewish Guys Calendar.
“This year, the guy you wouldn’t expect to see as a calendar ‘hottie’ is about to have his day,” Cohen said. “Well, 365 days to be exact. The 2010 Nice Jewish Guys Calendar is here and it’s causing a stir.”
The calendar – Cohen’s brainchild – is designed to put nice Jewish guys in print and treat them with the same reverence given to firemen, Cohen said.
“It’s an idea I’ve walked around with for 10 years,” says Cohen. “People cracked up when I told them the idea.”
But like most “great” little ideas, nothing got done with it, Cohen said. That is until 2008. Egged on by pestering fri, he threw caution to the wind and published the calendar.
Since its founding, when the calendar did “moderately well,” sales have taken off, Cohen said. Now the 2010 version is out and already proving to be an international success.
“I’m getting requests for contact information for some of the guys from as far away as Australia,” he said.
Sales are brisk as word seems to be out about the 12 nice guys who’ve arrived for the holidays. Already, the ultra-hip Kitson store on Robertson Avenue in Los Angeles has sold out of their fourth shipment.
And it isn’t just Jewish girls buying this calendar.
For a mere $12.95, Cohen gives calendar buyers some fun hero shots of the guys, along with brief, funny biographies and – of course – all the secular and Jewish holidays already marked. The guys are all real, not actors.
For example, Mr. August (Ethan), is also the 2010 cover boy. He is a professional strategy consultant who confesses that he can’t work a yo-yo and it gives him anxiety that eggnog is available year round.
Or if that isn’t your cup of tea, Cohen suggests Mr. October (Joe), who is an audio engineer who admits he’s never been to Israel but dreams of going there one day and running into Natalie Portman.
Blogs are abuzz about this insanely funny concept, said Cohen.
“I think it’s that this whole idea is so simple people can’t believe someone hasn’t thought of it before,” Cohen offers. “I think women in particular are seeing the calendar and thinking these guys are good catches and they have a friend or daughter who could use a guy like one of these dudes. Normality has never been celebrated like this, and the calendar is making it ‘hot.’”
With the success of this calendar, he said he is already planning a “Nice Jewish Girls” follow up.
