Lord & Benoit to Host Free Webinar on "Rebuilding Our Economy: How SOX Helps to Build Trust" on January 5

Nationwide over the past few years, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) has rebranded itself with the slogan, "Start with Trust(R)." Lord & Benoit believes the BBB is onto something simple and profound. That is, to function properly and grow in a healthy fashion, our economy must be based on trust. Trust is at the core of ethics, and ethical breaches are why the Sarbanes-Oxley Act was passed by the U.S. Congress in 2002.

During this webinar, topics will include: examples of publicly-held corporations that demonstrate a high level of trust and good ethics--even when times are tough; how SOX has helped these corporations to achieve this trust; examples of key fraud factors that most smaller public companies have been living with since their founding; the high priority of ethical values in the Smaller Public Company COSO framework; examples of Board of Director interfaces; bankruptcies that could have been avoided if SOX had been complied with; audit committee requirements; and the human resource COSO framework emphasis on management’s commitment to integrity, ethical behavior and competence.

The instructors will be Bob Benoit, President and Director of SOX Research at Lord & Benoit and contributing member of the COSO Monitoring Project Task Force; and Michael Mooradian, former Director of IT for Digital Equipment Corporation and Vice President of Operations at Lord & Benoit.
