Unique, Ultra-Slim Design Provides Warm, Elegant LED Light for Surfaces NEW YORK, June 5
NEW YORK, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lighting Science Group (OTC Bulletin Board: LSCG) ("LSG"), a global developer and integrator of intelligent and efficient light-emitting diode (LED) solutions, today announced the U.S. availability of its Eyeleds brand of solid state decorative lighting systems. Eyeleds are the first ultra-thin, recessed commercial and residential solid-state lighting systems for flooring, sidewalks, patios and other surfaces. The product will be publicly introduced at LSG's booth (#7-1050) at the NeoCon(R) World's Trade Fair in Chicago June 9-11.
The low profile Eyeleds product is ideal for various building materials, including carpeting, wood panels, walls, concrete and other flat surfaces. The product offers a "green" lighting option for consumers, wholesalers, architects and design firms, flooring and lighting distributors, landscape designers and contractors.
"Eyeleds, having established a significant presence in Europe, will introduce U.S. customers to a new standard of creativity and elegance for surface lighting," said Govi Rao, chairman and chief executive officer of Lighting Science Group. "Architects, contractors, and designers in North America will have increased design flexibility combined with ease of installation. Slim, sleek and rugged, Eyeleds enable lighting options that are new to the world."
Eyeleds were originally introduced in 2004 by Lighting Partner BV, the European LED leader that LSG acquired in April 2008. Since the initial introduction, the product has become a well-known brand for many lighting customers in Europe.
The products measure 1/4" (6.5mm) deep, operate on 12VDC and consume as little as .3W per light point. They are designed for easy installation in most building materials including carpeting, hardwood, laminate, stone, porcelain, ceramic, quartz, rubber, cork and bamboo -- both for indoor and outdoor applications. The simple design does not require fitting by a certified electrician and can be installed by a building products trade professional or the average "do it yourself" consumer.
Product DETAILS
FloorLeds
FloorLeds are the flagship line of the Eyeleds product range. FloorLeds are for indoor flooring applications. They are available in five colors and three different lens shapes. These decorative indoor lights are hard wired in chains of three to 20 LED light points and can be used in carpeting and hard flooring.
Multi
Similar to FloorLeds, this range includes individual LED lights with two 30" wire leads that have pluggable connectors at each end. Multis are for indoor use and are available in the same colors and shapes as FloorLeds. They are ideally suited as interior design accents, guide or night lights in steps, baseboards, wainscoting, counter tops, backsplashes, walls, stair stringers, stair risers and stair treads.
Eyeleds Outdoor
The Eyeleds Outdoor range consists of architectural, recessed walk-over landscape lighting, and is available in the round lens style. This product is used as accent, orientation, marker, guide or night-lights in outdoor landscape designs, decking, pavers, tile, boat docks, piers and concrete sidewalks and driveways.
PowerEye
The PowerEye is a highly advanced range of lighting which utilizes high power LED light source. This range advances LED lighting technology from being purely decorative, to becoming a truly ambient light source. The PowerEye is available in 60 and 45 degree light beam versions; the PowerEye is well suited for use as task lighting in, among other things, ceilings, recessed cubbies, under-cabinets, display cases, baseboards, stair stringers, stair risers, wall washing and even military vessels.
ColorEye
The ColorEye is an advanced programmable lighting system, utilizing RGB (Red, Green, and Blue) LEDs. The ColorEye is operated by a control unit ("sequencer") which allows users to mix red, green and blue LED colors into a myriad of custom combinations. Its sequence design software allows for custom programming of static and dynamic light scenes. The product serves as a decorative lighting system for use in flooring and vertical surfaces in residential and commercial applications.
