ST. CHARLES, IL -- 10/13/09 --
Monolith Software, a software provider with
the industry's most flexible and versatile IT management solution, today
announced that Bill Cannon has been appointed vice president of strategic
sales. Cannon has more than 25 years of experience developing and executing
strategic sales initiatives at EMC, Voyence, Micromuse, Ameritech, and
AT&T. He most recently managed the EMC Ionix software team, which focused
on the U.S. telecommunications, media and entertainment markets. Prior to
managing the U.S. team, he led the international sales initiative
integrating Voyence into the EMC sales organization. Cannon joined the
company following the acquisition of Voyence, where he successfully
expanded into new international markets, including Europe, Africa and the
Middle East. Effective immediately, Cannon will lead Monolith's global
strategic sales efforts.
"As Monolith Software continues to attract global and national service
providers and large enterprise customers, we recognized the need to bring
in a senior executive with the skills and experience to expand our business
even further," said Jeff Parker, president and co-founder of Monolith
Software. "Bill brings 25 years of experience in developing strategic sales
models for both IT management software vendors and service providers. His
focus on understanding and meeting the needs of service provider and large
enterprise customers, as well as a track record of generating dramatic
revenue growth made him the ideal addition to our team."
For more than five years, Cannon served as vice president of sales and
technical services for Micromuse, where he was responsible for managing the
key vertical markets of telecom carrier, federal government and OEM, which
comprised of the majority of North American sales. While there, he
developed strategic channel relationships with IBM, Cisco, Telcordia,
CAPGENEMI, and regional VARS in addition to establishing a federal
government sales team, which in three years grew to represent more than 15
percent of the North American license revenues. As general manager of
Ameritech's Advanced Data Services, Cannon built strategic data account
teams focused on the company's top 200 largest business and government
customers, growing revenue from $100M to $282M in three years. At AT&T, he
built a strategic sales organization, which successfully targeted
competitive long distance and data networking accounts in the Fortune 500.
"Monolith Software's integrated monitoring, service assurance and service
level management solution is helping customers simplify their NOC and
infrastructure management environments by replacing multiple monitoring
solutions that are designed for single service domains," said Cannon. "The
Monolith solution strikes a unique balance between ease-of-use, advanced
functionality and scalability giving customers the tools they need to
increase efficiencies and grow their businesses."
