Robotics Corporation will be exhibiting at the Society for Information Display
Exhibition at the Los Angeles Convention Center, West Hall in Booth #101-8
from May 20 to 22. KUKA Roboter GmbH and KUKA Robotics Corporation will
showcase the company's expertise in solar, semiconductor and electronics
industries for assembly and material handling applications. KUKA will
showcase an ultrasonic gripper manufactured by its partner Zimmerman & Schilp
of Regensburg, Germany. The ultrasonic gripper can be used to handle and
package completed panels, flat sheets of glass, metal and substrates of all
types without ever touching the surface. It floats on a cushion of air
generated by the ultrasonic vibration applied to the tool.
KUKA has a variety of products serving the cleanroom and display markets
including the KR5 Sixx robot, a six-axis robot that is fast, accurate,
flexible, rugged and easy to use and maintain. The KR5 Sixx robot is a
compact high speed robot series for assembly and material handling
applications with a .02mm accuracy with 5 kilo payload and either 650 or 850mm
reach. The end of arm tool is a non-contact tool using high frequency
ultrasonic vibration to create the air cushion suitable for handling glass,
metal, substrates, solar panels, and more.
