MENLO PARK, Calif., Aug. 4 CA-Krugle-Executive
MENLO PARK, Calif., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Krugle, Inc., the code search
company, today announced that Matt Graney, vice president of product
management, will lead a presentation on code reuse at LinuxWorld in San
Francisco on August 5, 2008.
The session, entitled "Code Scavenging: How to Find and Reuse Tasty
Bite-Sized Chunks of Code," will be a part of the "Quick and Dirty
Development" conference track chaired by LinuxWorld editor and open source
luminary Don Marti. The session will explore how to leverage code search in
order to more efficiently "borrow" code snippets while coding under deadline.
"Krugle's search-based solutions have expanded beyond code reuse -- we're
a platform that gives developers and enterprises full visibility across all
their code repositories," said Graney. "But, when you're stuck between a
developmental rock and hard place, Krugle's code reuse capabilities are second
to none."
Krugle will also be highlighting other search-based solutions by giving
away a free subscription to Krugle Enterprise. The latest version of the
search appliance, Krugle Enterprise 2.3, increases the cost-effectiveness of
code maintenance by leveraging similar changes and fixes across projects and
versions.
"The search appliance and subscription we're giving away would cost
enterprises $25,000 and up," added Graney. "But if you look at the amount of
time software teams normally spend on code maintenance, this appliance is
worth anywhere between $200k and $2 million in savings for each million lines
of code annually."
Krugle Enterprise 2.3 represents the first in a series of updates to the
search appliance that will directly target deployment solutions and expand the
utility of code search in software development.
