Tuck partners with First Book to donate 4,500 books to Horseshoe Bend Regional Library's 2008 Bookmobile
WASHINGTON, May 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- First Book, a non-profit giving books to children in need, announces that Justin Tuck of the New York Giants will make a special appearance at Central Elementary School to share a story with the children, who will then each receive a brand new book to take home, on Friday, May 23, 2008 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. The event kicks off Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy initiative. Working with the Central Alabama Community Foundation and the Horseshoe Bend Regional Library, Justin Tuck teams with First Book to donate 4,500 new books to support the 2008 bookmobile program, which will visit various Coosa county locations this summer.
Justin Tuck brings a focus on the joy of reading to children in his hometown in time for summer. The Horseshoe Bend Regional Library will share the 4,500 books with area children throughout the summer, and then return the books to Coosa county libraries for a permanent home for the collection.
"First Book is about bringing the magic of books to children who need them most. Justin Tuck is a true reading hero helping to bring new books to Coosa county children to be enjoyed this summer and well beyond," said Kyle Zimmer, President of First Book.
"I have always felt passionately about literacy and now I am able to do something about it," said Tuck. "I cannot be more excited to partner with First Book and help thousands of children throughout the years through education and literacy."
