Egan will be responsible for municipal credit analysis and research on current and new portfolio holdings. She will also be working with the portfolio management team in structuring new deals on behalf of clients.

"With over 23 years of investment management experience, Julie's expertise in municipal housing research will be a valuable addition to the portfolio management team," said Barbara VanScoy, Founder, Chair and Senior Portfolio Manager.

"Given Community Capital's strategy of utilizing taxable municipal bonds as a credit surrogate to corporate bonds, Julie's experience will further expand the firm's ability to capitalize within the sector," said Michelle Rogers, Portfolio Manager. "We believe the taxable municipal market will continue to offer similar long-term performance with less credit risk, less volatility, and greater diversification from the corporate capital structure."

Prior to joining Community Capital Management, Egan was a Senior Municipal Research Analyst and Director at Evergreen Asset Management Corporation, Wachovia's asset management arm. She was responsible for all housing bonds with an expertise in single and multi family bonds as well as new purchase approvals in tax exempt money markets. Previously, she was a Senior Municipal Research Analyst for John Nuveen & Company, Inc. in Chicago. In this capacity, she was responsible for credit and valuation analysis in the housing, transportation, bank and corporate sectors.

Egan received her undergraduate degree in Finance from Kent State University and a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. She received 1st place for Smith's All Star Municipal Analyst Team (Housing) in 2007 and 2008. Egan serves as the President of the Southern Municipal Finance Society and serves on the Board of the National Federation of Municipal Bond Analysts.
