HOUSTON - (Business Wire) The Lionstone Group, a private real estate investment firm, announced today that Jim Hime has joined the firm as a Principal and as Investment Director for its U.S. Land acquisition strategy. Mr. Hime brings to Lionstone proven success in sourcing, closing, financing and fundraising strategic real estate investments.

A former partner with the prestigious Baker Botts law firm and former officer of the international Hines real estate investment firm, Mr. Hime will work with the Lionstone team to identify large attractively priced urban land tracts, raising capital to acquire them, and executing the purchase process.

We are delighted to have Jim join us, said Lionstone Partner Tom Bacon. Not only is he a brilliant attorney and a highly skilled investment officer, he is also a good friend.

Lionstones strategy to invest in the US land market involves investing in large infill land tracts with issues that have prevented other potential buyers from purchasing them. The firms in-depth knowledge of all aspects of real estate planning, investment, and development make it ideally suited to pursue property that others are less willing to tackle. Lionstone has a proven record of creating value in assets of this type.

Formed in 2001 by partners Tom Bacon, Dan Dubrowski, and Glenn Lowenstein, the Lionstone Group serves the interests of real estate capital by performing extensive market research to find unique value for investors. The firm owns properties throughout the United States.

Mr. Hime started his career at Baker Botts in the Houston office where he practiced tax and real estate law. Later, he moved to the firms Washington, DC and New York offices where he played an instrumental role in each offices development and growth. After practicing law for 19 years, he joined Hines where he participated in the creation and management of several investment funds. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer of Zethus, an internet real estate venture in which Mr. Bacon and Mr. Dubrowski were also principals. Mr. Hime is the author of two novels, The Night of the Dance and Scared Money.
