SAN DIEGO - (Business Wire) Direct EDI continues to experience exponential growth in enterprise data, databases, servers and applications, not to mention the continuing growth of new users. To address these issues ITatOnce helped Direct EDI with Storage consolidation solutions, also called storage convergence, which is a method of centralizing data storage within multiple servers.

The goal of Direct EDI was to facilitate data backup and archiving for all subscribers in the enterprise while minimizing the time required to access and store data.

The ability for Direct EDI to continuously support and enhance storage needs became a never-ending battle meaning that when storage is directly attached to servers, it creates an environment where multiple servers are each configured with varying amounts of storage only accessible to that one server. This scenario can result in numerous single points of failure. ITatOnce helped with data consolidation by moving the servers out of the Direct Attach Storage (DAS) environment and onto a SAN environment.

Benefits of the Storage Consolidation Project:

  • Centralize storage and reduce administrative overhead
  • Simplify IT operations and reduce total IT expenditures
  • Expand storage capacity, performance, and network bandwidth online without downtime
  • Increase availability and protect critical data sets
  • Consolidate storage assets across multiple OS environments

In Summary:

Consolidating storage on a network can provide significant benefits to any organization. These benefits can include reducing the costs of storage management, increased availability, improved disk utilization, and faster, more reliable backups. With all of the potential benefits it is easy to see why so many companies are looking at data consolidation as a key component of their IT planning.

ITatOnce focus includes:

Business Continuity Services, Virtualization and Server Consolidation, Citrix solutions, Cisco products and services, Disaster Recovery and SAN Solutions, Data Protection and Recovery Solutions, Network Design, Data Base Maintenance, Fully Managed Hosted Solutions and Customized Maintenance Plans available to help clients maintain their network.
