Customers Able to Leverage Enterprise Data in a Highly Secure, Highly Reliable Digital-Certificate Environment LEXINGTON, Mass., June 18
LEXINGTON, Mass., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Ipswitch, Inc.'s File Transfer
division, the leading developer of secure and managed file transfer solutions,
announced today that the United States Army's Network Enterprise Technology
Command (NETCOM) has approved a Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) for the
Ipswitch MOVEit Central and MOVEit DMZ secure managed file transfer software
products (versions 5.0 and 5.2). This is in addition to the Federal
Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 validation the MOVEit products
have previously received, and the Department of Defense Common Access Card
(CAC) single sign-on (SSO) authentication support that MOVEit DMZ provides.
A CoN is required for all information systems operating on the Army's
Enterprise Infostructure (AEI). Certification involved examining how the
MOVEit products met Army enterprise-level requirements, including network
security, compatibility, integration, manageability, interoperability,
documentation and supportability. It also involved consideration of the ways
in which the MOVEit products impact a number of issues on the local level,
including operations, maintenance, and training.
"Data security is absolutely crucial to our armed forces. CoN
certification, FIPS 140-2 validation and CAC SSO support are just a few of the
reasons why MOVEit Central and MOVEit DMZ are especially well suited for
protecting sensitive government data," said Gary Shottes, president Ipswitch
File Transfer division.
About MOVEit Central
This enterprise-level Windows-based automated managed file transfer
program has the ability to securely pull, process and push files on a
scheduled, event-driven or on-demand basis between internal and external
systems, including MOVEit DMZ servers. Central does this using easily
clicked-together tasks (no programming required) that can be used to
automatically exchange files between multiple systems using multiple
protocols. Central can process files as part of an automated transfer using
numerous built-in functions as well as by triggering third-party applications
and VBScript scripts.
About MOVEit DMZ
MOVEit DMZ is an enterprise-level Windows secure managed file transfer
server program that provides end-to-end encrypted transfer and storage of
files, messages, and Web form postings. These can be pushed to, stored on, and
pulled from MOVEit DMZ by applications and end-users using a wide variety of
MOVEit and third-party secure file transfer clients (including regular Web
browsers) that support the HTTPS or secure FTP over SSH2 or SSL transfer
protocol standards. All data uploaded to a MOVEit DMZ server is carefully
protected using its built-in FIPS 140-2 validated 256-bit AES storage
encryption and secure permissions system.
