The use of hidden cameras may help parents become aware of potential child abuse, but in many cases the abuse has already taken place. To address both situations, Security Alert USA, an online retailer of Nanny Cameras, has selected Change Round Up in order to enable consumers to easily donate to child abuse charities.

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) November 23, 2009 -- Preventing child abuse may seem impossible, but parents can start by using a Nanny Camera to watch their children and caregivers more closely. While this is a good approach to prevention, Security Alert USA also uses an online charity service which enables consumers to help out where abuse has already taken place.

According to a federally funded resource offering justice and substance abuse information, statistics show that over time there has been an increase in sexual and physical abuse towards children. Many of these crimes have surfaced only recently. However, in most cases the abuse had been ongoing for many years before being discovered.

It is unsettling that victimized children often know their abuser in some way. It may be a family member or a person who, over time, has gained the trust of unsuspecting parents. Depending on the child’s environment among many other factors, it may be years before such abuse is discovered.

Because these crimes often go unreported, are undocumented and are never brought to the legal system, most people are simply not aware of the millions of children who are actual victims of such abuse. It is not until one starts to see changes in a child’s behavior or comes across some hard evidence that one begins to doubt the person who cares for them.

With the help of current cellular broadband and cell phone technology, concerned parents can now monitor their homes from any location using hidden IP cameras. Such cameras allow the parents to discreetly view what is happening at home via an internet browser on their cell phones, giving greater peace of mind and assurance that their children are in safe hands.

In an effort to help promote awareness of child abuse, the owner of Security Alert USA has selected Change Round Up to generate donations for selected child abuse charities. Change Round Up allows any 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization to join the Change Round-Up Non-Profit Network. Security Alert USA provides nanny cameras to consumers, also known as hidden spy cameras, and a portion of its profits every month will be donated to a selected child abuse prevention charity.
