NEW YORK - (Business Wire) Incisive Media, a global leader in specialized business news and information, today named Steven Fromm as editor in chief of
The National Law Journal. Fromm, formerly managing editor of the newspaper, will replace Rex Bossert, who has taken a communications position with the University of California Irvine School of Law. In addition, Incisive announced a number of related editorial promotions at the
NLJ.
Fromm joined Incisive Media in 1996 as an associate editor at The Connecticut Law Tribune. He was promoted to editor in chief, a position he held until 1999, when he came to The National Law Journal as an associate editor for litigation. He has been managing editor of the NLJ since 2003, a period during which the NLJ opened bureaus in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago and Miami, launched a daily Web site and strengthened its coverage of national legal trends, law firms, federal courts and law schools.
Prior to this, Fromm had 16 years of daily newspaper experience in Indiana, Delaware and New Jersey. His work included coverage of the legislatures and gubernatorial administrations in Delaware for the Delaware State News and in New Jersey for the Times of Trenton, as well as two overseas assignments in the Soviet Union and Somalia.
Fromm received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and attended the University of London.
Incisive also announced the promotion of Ruth Singleton from assistant managing editor to managing editor; Michael Moline from associate editor to assistant managing editor; and Leigh Jones from staff reporter to associate editor.
Singleton joined the NLJ in 1995. Prior to this, she clerked for Magistrate Judge Marilyn D. Go and worked as an associate in a midsize law firm in Manhattan. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and received her J.D. degree from the New York University School of Law.
Moline has been associate editor of the NLJ since 2005. Previously, he was managing editor of the San Francisco Daily Journal, a legal newspaper, and a state capital reporter for United Press International in Tallahassee, Fla. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University.
Jones joined the newspaper in 2004 from the New York Law Journal, an Incisive sibling publication, where she was the Long Island bureau chief. Before this, she was managing editor of Long Island Business News. Jones received her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and holds a J.D. degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
