WASHINGTON, April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was issued today by the Republican National Committee:
Duncan: "[I]'m very fortunate in the fact we were able to put together a lot of money last year and the money's coming in very good this year. We are going to announce a record first quarter. We'll have more than $25 million at the end of the first quarter. We are able to fully fund the presidential trust, which ... is the amount we can spend in a coordinated manner for the McCain campaign and we are very pleased to do that. And we have got good numbers that we are going to be announcing again very soon." (MSNBC's "MSNBC Live," 4/1/08)
Duncan: "I see a lot more people coming in, helping us raise money right now. I think you are seeing the party come together. I'm very pleased. And when you compare the amount of money that we have cash on hand, now somewhere near $30 million, with the $3 million to $5 million that the Democratic National Committee has on hand, you know that we are going to have enough money to get our message out this fall."
