SEATTLE, WA -- 11/02/09 -- In booth #200 at the 2009 PASS Summit, Idera, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and leading provider of management and administration solutions for Microsoft SQL Server, today announced SQL safe(TM) 6.0, the fastest SQL Server backup and recovery solution on the market.

With new, patent-pending IntelliCompress2(TM) technology, SQL safe 6.0 delivers record-breaking backup compression and speed. SQL safe's IntelliCompress2 continually monitors resource availability and performance during the backup process and constantly adjusts compression to ensure the fastest backups and the smallest, most compressed backup files.

"In SQL safe 6.0, we have worked with some of the leading compression and I/O optimization experts in the world to create unsurpassed compression of backup data using entirely new algorithms," said Rick Pleczko, President and CEO of Idera. "When you combine that level of expertise with the power and innovation of our new IntelliCompress2 technology, the result is the fastest, most compressed backups possible, each and every time."

SQL safe 6.0 also features a new network fault tolerance capability, which prevents SQL Server backups from having to be restarted when networks go down. Plus, it provides "zero-impact" encryption, which boasts less than 0.5% performance degradation using AES-256 encryption, so backups are always secure.

During a month-long public beta program, SQL DBAs and developers consistently showed incredibly small backup file sizes and faster backup times with SQL safe 6.0.

"Today, I did a backup of one of our larger production databases using SQL safe 6.0. The 194GB database was compressed to 45GB and my backup time was reduced by almost 30%. That's impressive!" said Mike Lile, DBA at K2B, Inc.

Idera also announced the SQL toolbox(TM), a set of easy-to-use tools that help with everyday SQL Server tasks, and a new product, SQL virtual database(TM). To read the press releases go to http://www.idera.com/Action/Show.aspx?ThisList=News
