PARK RIDGE, NJ -- 11/09/09 --
Hertz Global Holdings, Inc (NYSE: HTZ) today
announced that Scott P. Sider, currently President, Off-Airport Operations,
will succeed Joseph R. Nothwang as the Company's senior executive leading
the car rental and leasing businesses in the Americas. Mr. Nothwang, whose
retirement plans were disclosed in public documents issued in December 2008
and March 2009, will leave the Company as planned on December 12, 2009
after 33 years of service.
Mr. Sider will become Executive Vice President & President, Car Rental and
Leasing The Americas, effective upon Mr. Nothwang's retirement. The
Company's Asia/Pacific car rental and leasing businesses, which includes
China, India, Australia and New Zealand, will now report to Michel Taride.
Mr. Taride is currently the Company's Executive Vice President and
President responsible for car rental and leasing in Europe, the Middle East
and Africa.
Mr. Sider joined Hertz in 1983 and has held a number of senior management
positions in the Company's U.S. car rental operations. These include,
starting in 1986, Manhattan Area Manager and Region VP for the New England,
West Central and Western Regions, the latter being the largest in the Hertz
network, before being named to lead the Company's North American
off-airport business in 2008.
Mark Frissora, commenting on Mr. Sider's appointment said, "Scott has
demonstrated the ability to generate revenue and profit growth, and build
high quality teams, in our largest and most challenging U.S. car rental
markets. With 23 years of management experience in the airport and
off-airport markets, Scott, and his team, will build on the exceptional
progress Hertz has made during the decade Joe Nothwang led our car rental
business in the Americas."
