LINDON, Utah, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Helius (a Hughes company), a leading provider of digital media services for business, today announced the availability of MediaSignage 4.1. This innovative software upgrade starts with the enhanced user interface. The improved "drag and drop" interface enables the development of unique playlists for playback at specific times.
"MediaSignage Release 4.1 provides a more robust platform for digital signage management," says Kim Clark, CTO of Helius. "The new design greatly enhances ease of use while creating a powerful, efficient, and scalable tool for scheduling and managing digital signage networks."
MediaSignage 4.1 also delivers enhanced role-based administration incorporating an additional layer of security by ensuring that access is available only to individuals with the appropriate credentials. System management has been extended to improve serial monitor control, simplify content publishing, enable emergency notifications, and provide more robust report generation and export capabilities.
Another key upgrade pertains to device management. Users now see a detailed map of each device in the digital signage network that, in addition to location, provides information including software level and color-coded status showing the current state of each device. This new management feature makes device administration simple and intuitive.
Helius MediaSignage software is designed to deliver a scalable and reliable foundation for signage and corporate communications networks. It simplifies scheduling while distributing rich-media content and playlists to multiple display points from a central location, supporting both unicast and multicast environments.
"It has always been the goal of Helius to deliver next-generation digital IP video technologies that distribute and manage rich-media applications," said Mike Tippets, president of Helius. "MediaSignage 4.1 continues to fulfill that mission. MediaSignage customers have a network-wide broadcast solution that communicates business-critical information to the right target at the right time."
