HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 7 PA-Lucky-22-Powerball
HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Twenty-two U.S. Postal employees are sharing the $10.2 million Powerball(R) jackpot from the Oct. 4 drawing.

The "Lucky 22's" single-winning jackpot ticket matched all five white balls, 01-04-26-32-39, and the red Powerball, 18, to win the Oct. 4 jackpot, which grew over two drawings to an annuity value of $20 million. The group elected to share the $10.2 million cash prize, less 25 percent federal withholding.

The group of 22 coworkers to share in the jackpot prize are: Larry Hibbett, Keith Williams, Maurice Long, Timothy Herbert, John Meehan, Raymond Jones, Michael Piekielski, Karen Henderson, Eddie Pacheco Jr., Beverly Smith, Winston Davis, Deneatra Jenkins, all of Philadelphia; Barry Bellinger, Darby, Delaware County; Robert Singleton, Erial, N.J.; Garman Gwynn, Willingboro, N.J.; Donald Akins, Upper Darby, Delaware County; Gerald Boglia, Levittown, Bucks County; Joseph McGugan, Bensalem, Bucks County; Ethel Gwynn, Willingboro, N.J.; Daniel McKay, Secane, Delaware County; Karen Greenfield, Ewing, N.J.; and Gregory Haynes, Elkins Park, Montgomery County.

The Lucky 22 have been playing the Lottery together for many years. The jackpot-winning Powerball ticket was a quick-pick purchased at the Lansdowne Restaurant in Lansdowne, Delaware County. The restaurant will receive a $100,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The Lucky 22 presented the winning ticket for validation today at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. After examining the ticket and executing propriety security measures, Lottery officials confirmed that it was the jackpot-winning ticket from the Oct. 4 Powerball drawing.

The Lucky 22 are the 11th Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball jackpot winners since the state joined the multi-jurisdictional game in June 2002. Powerball tickets are sold in 31 participating jurisdictions -- 29 states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.

How to play Powerball: To play Powerball, players pay $1 and select five white balls from the first set of 55 numbers plus a single red ball, the Powerball, from a second set of 42 numbers. Players may select their own numbers using Powerball play slips, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn plus the Powerball number to win the jackpot. There also are eight additional ways for players to win cash prizes.

Powerball features an option called PowerPlay. For an extra $1 per Powerball play (game), players can multiply their Powerball prizes by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times the original prize amount for all prizes except the jackpot. Prizes can multiply up to $1 million. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot is 1 in 146.1 million.
