CHEYENNE, Wyo., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Great Lakes Aviation,
Ltd. (OTC Bulletin Board: GLUX) today announced preliminary passenger traffic
results for the month of September 2008.
Scheduled service generated 12,877,000 revenue passenger miles (RPM's), a
4.1 percent decrease from the same month last year. Available seat miles
(ASM's) increased 21.5 percent to 32,491,000. As a result, load factor
decreased 10.6 points to 39.63 percent. Passengers carried decreased 3.7
percent to 47,524 when compared to September 2007. Preliminary revenue per
available seat mile (RASM) increased 1.8 percent from 29.84 cents to 30.37
cents.
For the nine months ending September 30, 2008 compared to the same nine
month period in 2007, revenue passenger miles (RPM's) were relatively flat at
117,092,000 and available seat miles (ASM's) increased 12.4 percent to
264,955,000, resulting in a load factor of 44.19 percent for the year 2008
effecting a decrease in load factor of 5.5 points compared to the same nine
month period in 2007. The company carried 435,697 revenue passengers for the
nine month period ending September 30, 2008, a 1.2 percent increase from the
prior year. Preliminary revenue per available seat mile (RASM) increased 4.7
percent from 29.76 cents to 31.17 cents on a year-over-year basis.
