CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 13, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Goodrich
Corporation's (NYSE: GR) Aircraft Wheels and Brakes site in Pueblo, Colo.
received the Gold Leader award from the Colorado Department of Public Health
and Environment's Environmental Leadership Program (ELP).
The ELP is a voluntary initiative that encourages and rewards superior
environmental performers that go beyond the requirements of environmental
regulations and move toward the goal of sustainability. Employees of the
Goodrich facility in Pueblo have made significant improvements to reduce the
facility's environmental impact, including:
-- Reducing hazardous waste generation by 80% while increasing production;
-- Decreasing NOx emissions, a byproduct of combustion, by 74% using new
boiler technology;
-- Reducing natural gas consumption by using new heat recovery units.
The team has also committed to future environmental initiatives including
technology to reduce water, electricity and chemical consumption; increased
recycling of raw and processed materials; and mentoring other businesses and
organizations in the community on environmental stewardship.

The Environmental Leadership Program is a statewide environmental
recognition and reward program administered by the Colorado Department of
Public Health and Environment's Sustainability Program. The Environmental
Leadership Program offers benefits and incentives to members that voluntarily
