SEATTLE - (Business Wire) Kashless.org, the world’s largest free online marketplace and community, and RecycleBank, the world’s premier currency for rewarding green actions, today announced ‘Kashless Rewards,’ a new program which rewards consumers for going green and recycling items online at Kashless.org.

Beginning today, post or pick up any quality second-hand item on Kashless.org, and earn Points that can be redeemed for gift cards, travel discounts, apparel, restaurants, groceries, and a variety of other products and events at hundreds of local and national retailers. Any quality item will work including second-hand clothes, blankets, food, electronics, entertainment, furniture, toys - just about anything taking up space around your house or garage. In addition to earning Points by listing or picking up items on Kashless.org, you can also earn Points by inviting friends to participate, creating saved searches and more. Simply setting up a Reward Points account and posting your first item on Kashless will typically earn you enough Points to claim your first reward.

“This program is an easy way for people to go green for the holidays by recycling and reusing items online that may otherwise be headed to a landfill,” said Martin Tobias, CEO/Founder of Kashless.org. “This year go Kashless and give, receive, earn great rewards, and most important, make a real difference in someone’s holiday season.”

Kashless.org is the world’s largest free online marketplace and community, where people come together to look for things they want, share useful items they no longer need, and no money changes hands – everything on Kashless is absolutely free. Kashless.org is also the easiest, safest, most connected free marketplace and community online. Unlike other free sites, Kashless makes it easy to:

  • Browse and search listings by neighborhood and category in more than 100 U.S. metro areas
  • Search aggregated listings from multiple other free sites simultaneously
  • Save searches or post ‘Wanted’ listings for items you want and we’ll e-mail or text you when they are available
  • Post items you are giving away or searching for to your Facebook or Twitter page, as well as other free sites – all with one post to Kashless
  • Access local maps and driving directions showing where available items are located
  • Get a tax deduction receipt for donating items online
  • Buy postage through Kashless and have items mailed to you from across town or across the country
  • Create a free private community within Kashless where a business, non-profit, or community group can accept donations (e.g. church groups, sports teams, school PTAs, etc.)
  • Track the benefits of your participation, including offset carbon emissions, greenhouse gases and waste diverted from landfills

The ‘Kashless Rewards’ program is powered by RecycleBank, the world's premier currency for rewarding green actions. Reward partners include national retailers such as Coca-Cola, Kraft, CVS/pharmacy, Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday, and Bed, Bath & Beyond. Gift card options include Gap, Amazon.com and many more. You can even donate your RecycleBank Points to participating local school environmental programs, charities and non-profits.

“RecycleBank started by rewarding people for recycling and we are excited by the opportunity to now extend our rewards program to reward people for the reuse of goods,” said Ron Gonen, co-founder/CEO of RecycleBank.

RecycleBank was founded with the belief that environmental solutions create economic opportunities. RecycleBank motivates people to become greener citizens and smarter consumers by rewarding them for recycling at home or making reuse a priority. With a powerful and robust rewards program, there is a reward for everyone for doing their part to make the world a bit greener. An important part of what we do at RecycleBank is to let consumers know that there is an economic value to taking the environmentally smart action.
