Middlesex Water Company (NASDAQ: MSEX) has
announced that Gerard L. Esposito, President of Tidewater Utilities, Inc.,
Middlesex's wholly-owned subsidiary in Delaware, has been appointed to the
Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA) Board of Directors. Delaware
Governor Ruth Ann Minner formally appointed Mr. Esposito to the Board
position, which the State Senate approved and he accepted on June 26, 2008.
The Delaware Solid Waste Authority's Board of Directors is comprised of
seven Delaware residents representing The City of Wilmington and the three
counties.
Richard Pryor, DSWA's Chairman of the Board, said, "On behalf of my

Directors of the Delaware Solid Waste Authority. Mr. Esposito brings a
wealth of relevant experience from the public, the private, and the
regulated sectors of the Delaware economy that will enhance the Board's

contribution and insights as we continue to address Delaware's need for
sustainable public policy and programs to manage solid waste here in
Delaware."
The DSWA's Board of Directors sets policies and makes decisions regarding
current operations, programs and planning. The Board is also required to
adopt a "Statewide Solid Waste Management Plan" to provide the framework
for the future of the Delaware Solid Waste Authority.
Mr. Esposito has served as President of Tidewater Utilities, Inc. since
2002. Tidewater, based in Dover, DE, serves retail and contract water and
wastewater customers throughout the Delmarva Peninsula. Its parent
