PALO ALTO, Calif. - (Business Wire) Huntsman Gay Global Capital, a leading middle-market private equity firm, today announced the appointment of Gary Crittenden, former Chief Financial Officer of Citigroup and Chairman of Citi Holdings, as the firm’s newest Managing Director. Crittenden will work alongside the firm’s other partners on transactions and portfolio company operational and financial development. “We are delighted to welcome Gary to Huntsman Gay. Crittenden, 56, brings decades of executive experience, coming to Huntsman Gay from Citigroup, where he worked most recently as Chairman of Citi Holdings and was responsible for optimizing the operational and financial value of $850 billion in non-banking assets. Before taking on the role of Chairman, Crittenden was Citigroup’s Chief Financial Officer, and also managed the company’s re-engineering efforts as head of Strategy & M&A and Productivity & Re-engineering.
Prior to Citigroup, Crittenden was Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Head of Global Network Services at American Express from 2000 to 2007. He has also served as CFO of Monsanto and Sears, Roebuck & Company. Crittenden began his career in consulting at Bain & Company, an international management consulting firm, working on a range of strategic projects in the U.S. and Europe. Mr. Crittenden holds a B.S. from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
