Freescale Names Dr. Vivek Mohindra as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Transformation

AUSTIN, Texas - (Business Wire) Freescale Semiconductor announced Dr. Vivek Mohindra as its new senior vice president of Strategy and Business Transformation. Dr. Mohindra will drive all strategic direction for the company.

"Vivek brings with him a wealth of industry experience and expertise to Freescale," said Rich Beyer, Freescale chairman and CEO. "He will be a great addition to the team as we sharpen our focus on growth markets and our leadership positions."

Formerly vice president and general manager of Dell Inc.s Small and Medium Business group for the Americas region, Dr. Mohindra played a key role in driving growth and accelerating time-to-market for both direct and indirect channels for the company. In addition, Dr. Mohindra held various leadership positions with Dells marketing and product groups. He was also a principal with McKinsey and Company, with specialized consulting engagements in the consumer electronics and semiconductor industries.

Dr. Mohindra received a masters degree in business administration and masters and doctorate degrees in chemical engineering in the area of silicon processing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, Dr. Mohindra holds a bachelors degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
