Seeing is believing, and now, thanks to cutting-edge technology, hearing is believing, too. Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) engineers are using a new technology that allows them to actually see unwanted sounds and eliminate them during vehicle development, helping ensure Ford vehicles have the quietest interior cabins ever. The Noise Source Identification Tool, "Noise Vision" for short, is a small sphere equipped with more than 30 highly sensitive microphones and 12 cameras, and it's helped give the new 2010 Ford Taurus, Fusion, Flex and F-150 the quietest interiors in their classes. more...

Ford has set a precedent with Popular Mechanics' 2010 Automotive Excellence Awards by winning more categories in a single year than any automaker in the history of the awards. Bigger isn't always better. If you don't believe that, keep your eyes peeled for the classic '34 Ford 3-Window coupe boasting the "first" rear-wheel-drive application of an EcoBoost V-6. Ford and Kate Voegele pass the mic to promote teen safe driving
Singer-actress Kate Voegele is handing teenagers the mic to help Ford build peer pressure against hand-held texting while driving. Voegele is asking teens to submit safe driving-themed songs in a nationwide "Belt It Out" promotion.
