SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- First Mercury
Financial Corporation (NYSE: FMR) ("First Mercury" or the "Company") today
announced the appointment of Terrance ("Terry") A. Fleckenstein as Chief
Claims Officer. Mr. Fleckenstein oversees all aspects of claims management
and administration for all of First Mercury's specialty underwriting
platforms.

Mr. Fleckenstein has over 23 years experience in the insurance industry,
including most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Claims for Great
American Custom Insurance Services, Inc. He has also served in various
leadership positions for Farmers Group, Inc. and State Farm Insurance
Companies with operational roles in claims, marketing, and underwriting.
Mr. Fleckenstein holds a Bachelors degree in General Studies from Indiana
University and an Executive Juris Doctorate degree from Concord Law School.
He is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and a Chartered Life
Underwriter (CLU).
