LOS ANGELES, Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Fandango, the nation's leading movie ticketing destination, announced today that it sold nearly 18% of all tickets for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon", which took in a projected domestic weekend box office of $140.7 million*.

"New Moon" is an unstoppable force on Fandango. Among the records broken by the film:
- Top Advance Ticket-Seller of All Time: "New Moon" broke Fandango's advance ticket sales record, roughly five days before its release date, on Saturday night, November 14, 2009.
- Top Daily Sales for 2009: "New Moon" topped Fandango's 2009 daily sales record on Friday, November 20. As of Friday afternoon, it was selling more than 14 tickets per second during peak periods.
- Top Percentage of Tickets Sold for Opening Weekend: Fandango's dramatic ticket sales for "New Moon" represented the company's largest share of the opening weekend box office for a feature film in wide release.
The top five Fandango percentages for wide releases are:
- "New Moon" (2009) - 18%
- "Sex and the City" (2008) - 16%
- "Twilight" (2008) - 15%
- "Michael Jackson's This Is It' (2009) - 15%
- "The Dark Knight" (2008)- 13%
