A 'Haute' Item to Garner Social Awareness ATLANTA, July 7
ATLANTA, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Evian(R) Natural Spring Water, the world's
leading brand of luxury spring water, began this year on a charitable note,
garnering close to $50,000 for several goodwill organizations by auctioning
its haute couture creation by Christian Lacroix, the Pinnacle Bottle. The
events spanned the country and included The 16th Annual Elton John AIDS
Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in Los Angeles, the Miami-based Feasts
with the Beasts gala and the annual Food Bank of New York City Can Do Awards.
The creation of the Pinnacle Bottle by Christian Lacroix, is the
uber-exclusive counterpart to the Christian Lacroix Bottle released by Evian
earlier this year. Handmade by Swiss sculptor Robert Niederer and blown in the
shape of a feminine "Ice Queen," only three Pinnacle Bottles were released in
the U.S. and all were put to a good cause.
"We're excited that our partnership with Christian Lacroix has resulted in
such charitable endeavors," said Jeff Caswell, Vice President of Marketing for
Evian North America. "Evian is continually looking for opportunities to
partner with likeminded organizations that share Evian's drive to give back to
others and these three charities are exemplary of that dedication."
The 16th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party
was held at the Pacific Design Center in the heart of Los Angeles. Since its
establishment in 1992 by Founder and Chairman Sir Elton John, the Elton John
AIDS Foundation has raised over $150 million to support HIV/AIDS prevention
and service programs in 55 countries around the globe. Today, EJAF is one of
the world's leading nonprofit HIV/AIDS organizations. Evian created a
spectacular package for this event that included the Pinnacle Bottle, a year's
supply of Evian water and two tickets in the Evian box for the men's finals at
this year's U.S. Open.
Feasts with the Beasts, held at the Miami Metrozoo in Miami, was packed
with tastemakers and socialites. Nearly 1,000 guests enjoyed the festive
Amazon & Beyond inspired musical performances, animal lights, open bars,
delightful food, and the Evian Christian Lacroix Bottles at this gala.
Together the party-goers, dressed in animal-inspired cocktail attire, raised
hundreds of thousands for the Zoo's education and conservation programs.
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow was honored at the Food Bank for New York City Can
Do Awards on April 7th. The Food Bank helps provide 250,000 free meals a day
for New Yorkers who otherwise would go hungry or not eat enough. The
star-studded occasion, held at Pier 60, included guests like Ed Burns, Kristy
Turlington, Blythe Danner, Stanley Tucci and Petra Nemcova. The auction
package was a trip to the Evian Royal Resort located at the water's source in
Evian, France, the Pinnacle Bottle, as well as a year's supply of Evian
Natural Spring Water.
This altruistic initiative is just one more way Evian is giving back this
year. The premium natural spring bottled water brand also announced the
creation of the Evian Water Protection Institute, which will help to restore
and maintain wetlands around the world. Much like the three charity auctions
they participated in this year, The Evian Water Protection Institute will
first focus on three specific regions -- the La Plata basin in Argentina,
Nepal's Jagadishpur Reservoir in the heart of the Himalayas and Bung Khong
Long Lake in Thailand.
