BOSTON, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Evelyn Y. Davis and the Evelyn Y. Davis Foundation have together pledged a gift of $100,000 to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), it was announced today by MFA Director Malcolm Rogers.
"We are delighted to accept this generous gift from Evelyn Y. Davis, and to welcome her into the Museum family," said Rogers. "Mrs. Davis' gift has been designated for support of unrestricted endowment."
A resident of Washington, D.C., Davis holds shares in some 80 corporations in different industries and has been a strong advocate for shareholders' rights since she began attending corporate annual meetings in 1960. In 1965, she started Highlights and Lowlights, a newsletter covering corporate governance, executive compensation, shareholder vote reports, and a variety of business-related issues. Davis has lectured widely around the country on corporate governance and is focused on persuading corporate boards to be more accountable to shareholders. She is a frequent guest on many television networks, such as CNBC and FOX Television, and has been featured in newspapers and magazines. Davis studied business administration at George Washington University. Founded in 1989, the Evelyn Y. Davis Foundation makes grants to prominent national institutions.
