ERIE, Pa., Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dr. William G. Glecos, a general dentist from Erie, announced his candidacy for the position of President-Elect of the American Dental Association (ADA) during its annual meeting in San Antonio on October 21. He has served as Pennsylvania's representative to ADA's Board of Trustees since 2005 and has dutifully served the dental profession in positions of leadership at every level, effectively motivating others to work toward common goals and inspiring them to action.

Dr. Glecos is a Past President of the Pennsylvania Dental Association (PDA), the Ninth District Dental Society and the Erie County Dental Association. He has been in private dental practice in Erie since 1977 and received his dental training at the Temple University School of Dentistry. While in his private dental practice, Dr. Glecos returned to his alma mater of Gannon University to receive a Master of Business Administration in 1986.

Dr. Glecos served his country in the U.S. Naval Reserve and has been honored with Fellowships in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Academy of Dentistry International and the International College of Dentistry.
He has an extensive and impressive record of community service, generously assisting the Senior Citizens Health Care Council, the Erie Business Coalition Health Care Containment Committee and the AIDS Council of Erie. Additionally, he contributed his expertise in environmental issues from 1998-2005 as a member of the P3 ERIE Steering Committee, a voluntary pollution prevention initiative with the Department of Environmental Protection.
