ANNISTON, AL -- 10/14/08 --
Envizions Computer Entertainment announced
that the
Mirrors Evolution 1.0
is scheduled to go on sale November 18, 2008. Mirrors Evolution is a
commercial open source application that provides next generation
applications such as gaming,
VoIP, storage, cloud computing,
game development, social network
and multi-media applications. The Mirrors Evolution was designed on a
modified version of Fedora 8. When the Mirrors Evolution disc is loaded
over the Fedora 8 OS, new features will be available, yet maintaining the
original Fedora features and applications. Updates will be released as
phases per updates. Mirrors Evolution is the same software that governs the
EVO Smart Console.
New features include background skins, icons, and the customized social
network Pitch Buzz as well
as Green Earth, Envizions green
internet portal, and other desktop applications. Mirrors Evolution will
ship with four promotional packages, each having a different Linux open
source game enclosed and the basic orange version with no game.
Mirrors Evolution 1.0 will be the core platform and provide an on going
environment for software upgrades and modifications. Envizions will invest
and work closely with the open source community to create a diverse
all-in-one system. Gaming is one of the features, but this system will
expand into cloud applications and
other aspects of multi-media devices.
Developers from small to mid-size independents can benefit from annual
subscription services that include game engine updates, storage, promotion,
advertisement, packaging and distribution of their games depending on the
subscription package model selected.
Indie developers can truly benefit with commercial engine upgrades at a
fraction of the cost of a commercial engine. The process is simple. The
developer purchases the Mirrors Evolution developer software package,
selects an annual package, creates games, and uploads to the Envizions
server using the Mirrors desktop server icon. From there, Envizions will
certify the game, check for bugs, perform minor fixes and begin the process
for promotion, advertisement, and distribution for the developer. All games
will be listed in the GPromo distribution catalogue.
Games that are uploaded are also automatically entered into the Envizions sponsored EVO Fest contest. Games developed
can be ported over to EVO or the Mirrors platform. Mirrors Evolution is
designed for business, developers, gamers and desktop consumers. Support
will be available via phone, web, onsite, documentation, and community.
Envizions is currently working on the Mirrors Evolution 2.0 which
customers that purchase the 1.0 will have no additional charge. "The
Mirrors Evolution platform is ground level for more features and
applications to come," states Derrick Samuels, CEO of Envizions. "The day
is coming where convergence of product and service will help reduce costs
for customers."
