WASHINGTON, July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased
to announce that Bill Hollaway has joined the firm's Washington, D.C. office
as partner. Previously with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, Hollaway
focuses his practice on energy transactions and energy regulatory issues,
particularly involving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the
Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
"Bill is an experienced and highly regarded FERC lawyer who, with his
Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from M.I.T., has an extraordinary technical
background," said Ken Doran, Managing Partner of Gibson Dunn. "His
broad-based regulatory experience, coupled with his strong technical
background, will be a valuable asset for our clients in the energy sector."
"Bill's skill and experience complements the firm's Energy and
Infrastructure group," said Steven Buffone, Co-Chair of the Energy and
Infrastructure Practice Group. "In addition to his extensive FERC experience,
he has a strong transactional practice with the ability to advise clients on
creative solutions to resolve key regulatory obstacles in transactions. His
nuclear academic and regulatory background is an added strength given the
market is poised for the possible resurgence of nuclear power."
"Bill will also work closely with the firm's private equity, M&A,
corporate finance, project finance and general corporate transactional
practices," said Karen Manos, Co-Managing Partner in Charge of the Washington,
D.C. office. "There are also natural synergies between his practice and the
firm's environmental, litigation and government contracts practices in DC and
firmwide."
"I am looking forward to joining my new colleagues at Gibson Dunn," said
Hollaway. "Gibson Dunn provides a tremendous platform with a strong national
and international energy group plus multidisciplinary depth and breadth
running across all the different practice groups with which I will be working.
It is a spectacular opportunity to join a world-class firm."
